Intro
Bring simplicity and strength to your outdoor space with this modern bench, crafted entirely from 2×4 construction lumber. Its clean lines and practical design create a piece that feels both timeless and contemporary.
Whether you’re adding functional seating to a patio, garden, or entryway, this bench is a perfect fit—built to last and made with intention.
Bench Features
I built two sets of farmhouse tables and benches:
- Set 01: 1 table + 2 benches (Table finished with Dark Walnut stain; benches finished in Light Walnut Danish Oil).
- Set 02: 2 tables + 4 benches (Tables finished with Medium Walnut Danish Oil; benches finished with Light Walnut Danish Oil).
After the first event, my fiancée decided the Dark Walnut felt too heavy, so I lightened the second set with Danish Oil for a softer, rustic vibe.
The plans are adapted from Ana White’s farmhouse table tutorials (video 1, video 2), which are beginner-friendly and use basic dimensional lumber.
Styling for Events
Because they’re solid wood, they’re far sturdier than plastic folding tables and instantly elevate the event look. These farmhouse tables work perfectly for:
- Birthdays
- Bridal showers with rustic table runners, flowers, and candles
- Outdoor parties with plenty of seating
- Backyard dinners and casual gatherings
